Our promise: accurate, mainstream, plainly-sourced guidance — never fabricated. We show where the schools of thought differ, we cite the sources we rely on, and we correct mistakes quickly.
Accuracy first
Everything we publish reflects mainstream Sunni fiqh. We never invent hadith wording, statistics, prices, scholar names or fatwa numbers. Where a ruling is disputed between the four schools, we present the differing positions neutrally instead of hiding them.
How our content is produced
Each page is researched against reputable published sources (see Sources), drafted, and reviewed by our editorial team against the core constants of Zakat and inheritance before publishing. Calculations are tested against worked examples. Pages carry a “last reviewed” date and are updated when rulings, standards or our methodology change.
Use of research & drafting tools
We use modern research and drafting tools to help produce clear content efficiently, but every page is fact-checked and editorially reviewed against the sources we cite. We do not publish unverified claims, and we do not present our tools’ output as a religious ruling.
Independence
The Zakat Calculator is independent. We are not a charity, a mosque, a madhhab institution or a government zakat authority, and we are not funded by any of them. We keep the site free through advertising, never by taking a share of your Zakat or selling your data.
Scholarly review
Our content is compiled from reputable published fiqh sources and editorially reviewed. It is not yet formally certified by a named scholar, and we say so openly rather than implying an authority we do not have. We are actively inviting qualified scholars to review our pages — see Scholar review. Until then, treat everything here as guidance, not a fatwa.
